Of Kangaroos and Chinchillas (1/21/2013)

The Dream

I am on a train heading towards my home when I am approached by a man who gives me two animals. Upon looking at the animals I realize one is a goat and one is a strange creature that has the head and the fur of a chinchilla and the body of a kangaroo.

I get off the train with the animals, which are now my responsibility. I have to go through security, customs and some sort of device that cleans people who are travelling with animals. As I am walking, my goat runs away. I am too afraid to leave my chinchiroo (the name I have given to my chinchilla and kangaroo mix) and the goat is lost forever.

We go into the cleaning both and on either side of me are people with larger chinchiroos waiting to be cleaned as well. I get through the cleaning booth with my new pet and start to walk home. That is all I remember.

Meanings*

Train: A train suggests that you are on the right track in life and headed in the right direction.

Goat: To see a goat in your dream represents your lack of judgment and your gullibility.

Kangaroo: To see a kangaroo in your dream refers to paternal protection. You may be expressing your nurturing nature. Alternatively, a kangaroo symbolizes aggression.

Chinchilla: A chinchilla symbolized good communication and proper timing

Big: To dream that something is bigger than normal indicates that you either have an inflated opinion of yourself or of someone. It also expresses a desire to be more dominant in some situation.

On the Couch

I feel like I am on the right track in life, headed in the right direction. When I get there I am given two things. One is something I am dedicated to and passionate about and the other is something else I feel is mine. The second thing (the goat) leaves me and I am not sad. I keep holding on to the first thing (the chinchiroo) and it is making me a better communicator. After a short time I see others having the same thing I have, but those other people are more dominant and influential. I want to grow to achieve this level.

Things look like they are on the up and up for me right now. I have been given more responsibility and projects at my job and I feel like I am becoming more passionate about my projects and better at communication overall. My job is turning into my chinchiroo and I like it. I like it so much that I have started to shed some of my lack of self-confidence that came with not having a something really stable in my life. Now that I have it, my metaphorical goat has run away. Now I am looking to the future and seeing the potential my projects at work can have. I want to roll with the big guys and I have my eye on making things bigger and better for my organization. It's time to get through those starting gates and go with it!

Or my dream could just mean that I think both chinchillas and kangaroos are awesome pets and someday, through the magic of science, I will be able to put them together into some sort of super pet. A man can dream can't he?
