I hear of a new hospital opening up in town that has
different methods of treating people and new medicines. I am a
journalist so I decide to go undercover and experience this new hospital. I go
in and pretend to be sick for nine days to get the full effect. The people in
the hospital seem to be cartoons at first and whatever they have is very
contagious. Everyone just lies in bed and is pumped full of medicine and sleeps
and then is better a day or two later.
After a couple days in the hospital, the
patients change to real people and I know most of them. They are all in
trouble with the law and are warned that they are on probation when they leave
the hospital. After nine days I leave. I have a Facebook group detailing my
project and a lot of people read it. I talk to someone after the project and he
says that the project was stupid and my writing was dull. I shrug and leave.
I am suddenly at
a ski hill. It looks like people are going to ski
right off the hill into a huge drop, but tracks come out at the last moment
that they can ride on. I don’t have skis so I just watch people. My friend comes
up to me and says that he got a ticket for walking up the hill with no skis
because he didn't want to wait in the tow line. We leave the hill.

On the Couch
I need to get healthier in some way by getting back into the flow of things, but I think this involves giving control of my body up. This is stressful so I need something that will serve as an escape. In the midst of this I see one or several people I know that are underestimating their potential and I am trying to alert them of this. I am watching people pushing themselves to the limit and paying the price for it, having to make sacrifices or go through tough times just to pursue something.
This dream starts off making a lot of sense. I am getting back into the flow of things. This is the most active and productive I have been probably since I came home from a trip to Europe and definitely since I graduated from university last spring. This comes with some catches though. I am feeling stressed at times and like the three jobs I have are controlling my mind and body. I need a comic relief from this building stress. The next part of the dream worries me a great deal more. It is pretty much saying that I know someone that is underestimating themselves as they push for something they want and facing obstacles on the path. I want to alert them, tell them they are doing well and I support them, but maybe I don't know how to do that. The problem is, my subconscious doesn't exactly say who that person is and so I don't know where to start to help.
Or maybe my dream just means that if I write a crazy good investigative piece I will get to watch cartoons and ski all the time. Sounds good to me. I better get started right away.
